About the Midwest Widowed Social Group
The Midwest Widowed Social Group (MWSG) is a community-based social group for people who have lost a spouse or partner.
We understand that life after loss can feel isolating. MWSG exists to provide opportunities for widowed people to meet others who understand that experience — not through counselling or formal support, but through normal social connection.
The group is peer-led and supported by volunteers, many of whom are widowed themselves.

Who the Group Is For
MWSG is open to widowed women and men living in the Midwest region of Ireland.
You do not need to be at any particular stage in your bereavement to join. Some members are newly widowed, while others have been widowed for many years.
There is no pressure to share your story — many people simply enjoy the social connection and sense of belonging.
Our Values

Joining the Group
If you are widowed and feel that MWSG might be right for you, you are very welcome to get in touch.
Once you contact us, a volunteer will respond and help you take the next step — whether that's attending a coffee morning, a walk, or simply finding out more.
There is no obligation to attend anything, and all contact is handled with care and discretion.
